Enhancing productivity

Creatives encounter different kinds of unique challenges in their career journey, one that is commonly agreed as career threatening is the “writer’s block”. This condition that primarily associates with writing, in which an author is unable to produce a piece temporarily and in some cases long lasting. Writer’s block can be quite frustrating, causing the writer experiencing it to lose their minds.
Several researchers and writers have shared their experiences on how best to break out of this unpleasant loop. Their solutions ranges from taking a walk, listening to music, finding your muse (excitement/play), eliminating distraction, running or exercising, read a book, free write e.t.c.
In our day to day lives, we exhibit the traits of creativity and get frustrated when we get a block. This does not necessarily mean that we are experiencing a writer’s block, however we may be responding to the situation in an unsuitable mode different from what the situation is originally designed for.
David Perell, in his Beer mode and coffee mode article explained extensively what it means for a writer to create pieces in coffee and beer modes while referencing the thoughts of John Cleese who coined the analogous idea of open mode and closed mode. After reading the thoughts of these great minds, it occurred to me again, that self-awareness, tranquility and self-care has a huge effect on giving humans a clear direction and enhancing productivity.
